Sonny Hostin disrespected Republican congressional candidate Kimberly Klacik this week on "The View". The View co-host's treatment of Klacik underlines her dismissal of the black conservative voice.
Klacik's appearance on the show took a downward spiral during a discussion on the severe effects of COVID-19 and her support of black voters in Baltimore.
Klacik pointed to poor living conditions as a reason why the pandemic hit so hard in her community.
It was at this moment that Joy Behar, another co-host on "The View", reprimanded Klacik for not casting blame on President Trump for the economic hardships that the black community faces.
"You have to put some blame on your president. I'm sorry. You are putting it on something extraneous here. Talk to the points, please." said Behar
The above comment referenced President Trump's interview with Bob Woodward where President Trump admitted to downplaying the seriousness of COVID19 to the American people.
In response, Klacik attacked Behar personally for dressing up as a black woman for Halloween when she was younger. Perhaps she did this in an effort to point out that everyone has a part to play in the problems facing the black community not just the President of the United States.
Behar argued that what she did was not "blackface." She called her costume a homage to the black community. She also claimed that the black community had her back.
Klacik responded that "the black community has my back as well."
Hostin took this moment to interject her two sense into the discussion,"...The black community did not vote for you. What planet are you living on?"
Klacik tried to explain but Hostin interrupted her by repeating the above question. "What planet are you living on?"
Finally, Klacik had the opportunity to explain that it was a special election during the lockdown and she was unable to directly talk to voters
Sonny responded by shaking her head in a dismissive fashion and loudly commenting, "Wow. Wow."
Klacik thanked the hosts for inviting her on the platform but not before pointing out Hostin's immaturity.
This dismissal of Klacik comes on the heels of comments made by Hostin the week before. Hostin referred to black conservatives as props used by republicans to garner the black vote.
