Newspaper Cartoon Depicts NC’s Black Lieutenant Governor as KKK members

I wish I could say that racism is dead, but it's really not. In fact, in many cases, it's evolved into a hybrid of racism and idiocy.

While this incident in which I'm about to describe isn't your normal run-of-the-mill type of racism that you'd expect to see out of someone who is racist, it still fits.

Mark Robinson is the first Republican black lieutenant governor of North Carolina. You would think that by now, they would be past racism and past being complete idiots there, but they're not.

A local news outlet published a cartoon depicting Robinson - keep in mind, a black man - as an elephant dressed up as a member of the Ku Klux Klan.

Think about how insane that is. This is a mainstream news outlet, publishing a cartoon that you would even consider to be fringe back in the 60s.

And what's worse, it was created by an eighth-grade school teacher.

North Carolina’s lieutenant governor is taking issue with a cartoon posted by a local news channel depicting Republicans as members of the Ku Klux Klan.

“It’s something we cannot stand for, folks,” Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson, a Republican and the first black lieutenant governor in the history of the Tar Heel state, said in a press conference Tuesday.

“On the second day of Black History Month, the first black lieutenant governor of North Carolina has been portrayed as [racist],” Robinson added. “That you would portray a black man, just because he’s in the GOP, as a Klansman …. the hypocrisy is mind-numbing, folks.”

The cartoon, posted online by WRAL-TV, shows an elephant, the symbol of the Republican Party, wearing a Klan robe and posing as a member of the school board, which Robinson is a part of.

Take a look at the cartoon.

Robinson held a press conference to call out the newspaper and to let them know that they're not going to put up with it.

How have people become so blinded by hate? They truly are the very thing that they claim to hate. We see it time and time again with liberals.

We have especially seen this with Antifa. Antifa claims to be antifascist...that is, against fascism. But what they are doing is fascism at its finest.
