CNN BUSTED AGAIN: Forced to Correct Fake News Story

With the release of the report from the Justice Department's Inspector General, CNN was forced to correct another story they've been pushing about Paul Manafort.

Here is what the original story said:

US investigators wiretapped former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort under secret court orders before and after the election, sources tell CNN, an extraordinary step involving a high-ranking campaign official now at the center of the Russia meddling probe.

The government snooping continued into early this year, including a period when Manafort was known to talk to President Donald Trump.
Some of the intelligence collected includes communications that sparked concerns among investigators that Manafort had encouraged the Russians to help with the campaign, according to three sources familiar with the investigation. Two of these sources, however, cautioned that the evidence is not conclusive.

And here is what is now at the top of the article.

On December 9, 2019, the Justice Department Inspector General released a report regarding the opening of the investigation on Russian election interference and Donald Trump's campaign. In the report, the IG contradicts what CNN was told in 2017, noting that the FBI team overseeing the investigation did not seek FISA surveillance of Paul Manafort: "We were also told that the team also did not seek FISA surveillance of Manafort...and we are aware of no information indicating that the Crossfire Hurricane team requested or seriously considered FISA surveillance of Manafort."

They didn't change the content of the article so it's clear they still want people to see it and believe it even though it's a lie. CNN is banking on the hopes that not many people will read the smaller italicized font.

“The editor’s note is not the first time CNN walked back a bombshell report that was contradicted by official sources. CNN reported in June 2017 that former FBI director James Comey would contradict President Trump’s claim that Comey had told him he was not under investigation. The network was forced to issue a correction a day later when Comey testified before Congress that he gave Trump that assurance three times.” (WFB)

CNN also lied to its viewers for three years claiming that Trump colluded with Russia.

CNN is nothing but fake news.
